Fortunate Friday, Our Answer to Black Friday

While many people were looking for offers and black Friday sales the women in my family were enjoying another type of day. The day after Thanksgiving, a day after giving thanks for what we have and spending time with people in our lives who like the idea of ​​Black Friday is not very attractive. The idea of ​​fighting the crowds, standing in the lines, and may just hurt to "get a deal" does not sound fun for us.
About seven years ago, in our family, we started our own tradition, and I called it "Friday Lucky". After enjoying Thanksgiving with us or our families, we gather to enjoy a little bit of time as a child. Yes, we buy, however, frequent craft fairs, gift shops, small bookstores and car shops. Not only find unique items, we also support small businesses and enjoy products and crafts of talented local craftsmen.
When we see Christmas decorations that remind us of our past celebrations, awakens memories of those who are no longer with us and have spent a vacation with them are. Remember, laugh and maybe shed a tear, but we have full sense of solidarity and family. We have the chance.
Every year, someone comes up with a new idea of ​​how to spend the day. Last year, our journey from one store to another took us through the countryside. We did not have to deal with traffic, no crowd; For us, it was a day to relax, enjoy the scenery and be together. This year we support new local stores and, of course, has time for our favorite store, which always finds its way in our itinerary.
Our group changes a little each year depending on who is available to join us. This year, my sister's granddaughter joined us. She was home for the holidays and we are honored that she wanted to spend the day with us. We hope to inspire to continue this family tradition with the next generation.
Lucky Friday never disappoints. Although we have no purchase of specific diets, each of us will necessarily find something unique for someone in our life. We always find a little something for us too. We enjoyed a good meal together and a good conversation. At the end of the day, we return home with a greater appreciation for the others and the family ties that keep us close. For us, it is indeed "Lucky Friday".
